About Us

Welcome from the Chair

Dr. D'Amico
On behalf of The Department of Ophthalmology of Weill Cornell Medical College, I am pleased to announce the opening of our new clinical facility. The Weill Cornell Eye Associates offices are located within the award-winning Weill Greenberg Center, and have been designed to provide exceptional patient care in a most welcoming and attractive environment. The 22,000 sq ft patient care area is state-of-the-art throughout, and includes 24 newly equipped rooms for individual patient examination and consultation and a specially-designed area for the evaluation of pediatric patients. The facility also contains the most advanced diagnostic, therapeutic, and laser technologies available, permitting diagnosis and treatment of ophthalmic conditions using the finest and most effective instruments and techniques in this rapidly changing field.

The physicians and staff of Weill Cornell Eye Associates are committed to excellence in the provision of a complete range of ophthalmic services, including cataract, cornea and external disease, retinal and vitreous disorders, glaucoma, pediatric ophthalmology, oculoplastics, and neuro-ophthalmology. Furthermore, these services cover the entire range of complexity, from accurate eyeglass and contact lens prescriptions to the most complex intraocular surgeries, such as keratoprosthesis (artificial corneal replacement) and vitreoretinal surgery for diabetic retinopathy or complicated retinal detachment, for example. In addition, the Refractive Laser Suite incorporates the new 60 Hertz femtosecond laser in conjunction with excimer laser technology, permitting unparalleled selection and delivery of the full range of refractive surgical options, including photorefractive keratectomy (PRK), LASIK, INTACS, and many others. A private viewing area is artistically incorporated in the Laser Suite in order to permit viewing of the ongoing procedure by the patient's loved ones, if desired.

The offices also include a dedicated Ophthalmic Clinical Trials Unit and superb facilities for the education of physicians-in-training and technical staff. The Ophthalmic Clinical Trials Unit is specially designed for the accurate collection of data from patients undergoing innovative new treatments though clinical trial participation on a voluntary basis; the data collected from these trials contributes directly to future improvement in treatments and visual outcomes. A conference room with computerized presentation capabilities enhances the education of physicians-in-training and technical staff, and the teleconferencing system offers these instructional advantages to vision professionals worldwide.

My associates and I are deeply grateful to those who have made this magnificent facility possible, with all its assembled personnel and resources, and for the services it offers to you, our patients, who are seeking to improve or regain vision. We welcome the opportunity to be of service to you.
